Banana Split for Dinner!

We have been feasting on all sorts of delicious foods this summer.  A favorite has been cinnamon/pecan topping on waffles, toast, roti, or whatever kind of bread we have around.

We've been doing a lot of baking.  I usually always bake from scratch but, since Secret Agent Man is interested in doing things himself we have been baking from packages so he can easily read the instructions and then I just pop it in the oven for him.  We've done a couple of cakes and these peanut butter cookies.

Secret Agent Man also did a little do-it yourself seafood.  He caught these crawfish in the river and was adamant about eating them.  He doesn't eat much meat and we were wondering if he would really eat them.

We brought them home, boiled them up and here's how they turned out.  Special Agent Dad smothered them with some butter and cracked off the tails.

He had a little trouble with the first one but, then ate the rest of them and the taste grew on him.

We have also been enjoying all of the summer berries.  Here we had a little strawberry and blueberry shortcake.

Preparing food is such a fun time for the family to spend together.  We often cook and prepare our meals as a family, each of us doing a part.  So when I read this story about Ryan's Banana Split Party , I thought it was a great idea.  We definitely need to make memories and enjoy each other in every moment.

Banana Split's for Dinner!

I think Special Agent Dad and I were more excited than Secret Agent Man.....we kept planning it by text all day!
