Kiva is a micro loan charity that allows you to make small but significant loans to people in need around the world.
Secret Agent Man has used his charity savings to loan to two people and I have loaned to several myself.

My loan was a small $25 contribution but, these small contributions are helping to combat poverty. I will expect to see full repayment of my loan in 14 months, at which time I will loan that money again.
is 51 years old and lives with her husband and daughter in a wooden house that is in the slum district of Ulaanbaatar, the capital city of Mongolia. She sells various vegetables in the market.
She requested a loan to purchase some necessary building materials to renovate her house because it has become too old and needs its flooring completely changed. Also, she will use her loan to increase her business capital for expanding her sales volume.
